Our Story
Built From 17 Years of Hands‑On Experience
I’m Vinny, the founder of the Camp Ruff Ruff Foundation. Seventeen years ago, I started working with dogs because I saw the same pattern over and over again: human–dog relationships were failing not because people didn’t care, but because they were never taught the basics. The more experience and education I gained, the clearer it became—most behavior issues, stress, and breakdowns in the home come from a lack of public education, not from “bad dogs.”
This Foundation was created to close that gap. Our mission is to teach the essential skills that help every human–dog relationship succeed. By giving communities accessible, humane, behavior‑focused education, we help people understand their dogs, prevent avoidable problems, and raise well‑rounded, stable companions. Humane education isn’t optional—it’s the foundation for every successful relationship.
Our Mission
Educating People to Strengthen Every Human–Dog Relationship
Our mission is to make humane, behavior‑focused education accessible to everyone. After seventeen years of hands‑on experience, it became clear that most challenges between people and dogs come from a lack of understanding—not a lack of love. By teaching the fundamentals of communication, handling, and relationship‑building, we help families, volunteers, and shelters create safer, more stable environments for dogs. Our goal is simple: empower people with the knowledge they need to raise well‑rounded companions and prevent avoidable breakdowns in the home and community.
Our Vision & Purpose
Building a Future Where Humane Education Is Standard
Our vision is to grow a dedicated team and a community‑driven foundation that brings humane‑handling education to every corner of the public—families, shelters, and rescue groups alike. After seventeen years in the field, it’s clear that most challenges can be prevented when people understand the basics of communication, behavior, and relationship‑building. Our purpose is to make that education accessible, scalable, and rooted in real‑world experience. We aim to create a future where every dog benefits from informed care, every shelter has the tools to support behavior needs, and every community understands how to raise confident, well‑rounded dogs.
What Guides Us
A Commitment to Humane, Evidence‑Based Education
Everything we do is guided by a simple principle: when people understand dogs, dogs thrive. Our approach is rooted in science, compassion, and real‑world experience gained over seventeen years in the field. We believe in clarity over confusion, education over punishment, and community over isolation.
Our commitment is to provide the public, shelters, and rescue groups with practical, accessible knowledge that improves safety, reduces stress, and strengthens every human–dog relationship. We hold ourselves to high standards of transparency, integrity, and continuous learning—because the better we teach, the better outcomes dogs and people will have together.
