Hip replacement

With hip issues being such a common occurance in dogs, I'm so happy that a hip replacement is an option for our furry friends. I've heard that the majority of dogs who need this procedure only need one replaced to increase their comfort level and quality of life and that's a really good statistic. Is there anyone here whose dog has had a hip replacement? Or are you considering having it done in the future?

I honestly hope that Sadie never needs one. It's one of the main reasons I'm working so hard on her weight. I'm not sure I'd ever have one done on a dog simply because of the mobility limitations and the pain. There's a lot to consider.
