What's the most amount of dogs you've owned at one time?

Dogs are really good pets, and sometimes that can cause people to want to have more than one dog, or maybe they have more than one dog because they think one dog would be lonely by itself. How many dogs have you had at one time? The most I've had at once is seven, because of a litter of puppies. Grown dogs, I've had three at once.

We had seven when I was a kid too. Our neighbor passed away and left a note asking mom to take her dogs. Her kids were going to put them to sleep otherwise. Since we already knew the dogs and they got along with ours, we kept them. It was doable because we had an acre of land fenced in and everyone got along well. My siblings and I all love animals and were happy to pitch in. I couldn't take care of that many dogs on my own though. I believe the neighbor also left some money for their care, because I know they didn't break the budget.

I don't think there's a certain number that is too many. If a person can afford to take care of them and can give them time and attention, and the dogs get along well, then I say the more the merrier. That's not my reality though. I have one dog and three cats. That's about all I can handle. A litter of pups sounds like fun though.

Growing up I had my share of pets, but no dogs. When I moved out of my parents' house, that was when the dogs came along. A dog was the first pet that I got as an adult:)... I added other kinds of pets later.
What a blessing to grow up with dogs and an acre of land to keep them on, and what a blessing to those dogs that your family was able and most of all willing to take them in.
The puppies were fun while it lasted, but I had to sell them because I barely had room to keep two dogs, let alone any more than that.

The most I have ever had at a time was four and that was a while back. I agree that you can't really limit the number of dogs that anyone can have because there are many factors that come into play.
