Has a dog ever saved you from something?

Did you see the story recently in the news about the dog who saved his owner from a rattlesnake? The dog got bit on the nose, poor baby.
I haven't read the story yet, but I saw it on the news portion of my e-mail account. Have you ever had a dog that saved you from something? I had a couple of beautiful pit bulls, and one of them helped me out on a couple of occasions:).
 
Well, I have seen stories about how dogs have come to their owners' rescue but personally, I have never had such an experience. Dogs are very intelligent and faithful animals so I wouldn't be surprised if my dog ever pulled such a stunt. Another beautiful scene was this dog that would do most chores in the house, including holding the shopping basket while the owner picks the items from the shelves (or should we say biting :)).
