I just read an article about a couple of studies done where a certain type of speech seems to be appealing to dogs... dog-directed speech is what they call it. Kind of like baby talk for dogs. The "puppy voice." The article said that this type of talk works more for younger dogs than it does for older ones. I like using the 'puppy voice', but I find myself using it on all animals of all ages, not just puppies.
Do you talk to your dog in a different way than you talk to people, no matter the age of the dog? I have to talk to dogs in a different way, I just can't talk in a regular, monotone "Come on, let's go for a walk," even if the dog is 12 years old, lol.
